At Dr Leah Clinic, patient safety is our priority. We use only Allergan anti-wrinkle injectable, and it is performed only by our doctors (GMC/GDC registered) who are highly experienced, performing tens of thousands of anti-wrinkle injectable treatments every year.
The benefit of seeing a Dr Leah doctor is that they are highly experienced and conduct tens of treatments every single day.
The doctors will be able to adjust the dose and positioning of your Allergan anti-wrinkle injections to give you the result you desire. This will be discussed with you before treatment and means you have the choice of removing all movement or you can have it injected in a way that does not freeze the upper face entirely. Our doctors can also adjust eyebrow position to lift or arch brows for a injectable brow lift or give more brow symmetry. Our doctors can use anti-wrinkle injectables for forehead lines and even smooth outlines at the side of the forehead above the brows, which other less experienced practitioners are often not confident to treat. If you have had issues with the brow feeling heavy in the past after anti-wrinkle injectables, our doctors are skilled at performing the treatment to prevent this.
Our doctors can also use anti-wrinkle injectables to treat other concerns such as using gummy smile injections to reduce the look of an overly visible gum line, Masseter injections which slim the jaw and aids teeth grinding, or to stop excessive underarm sweating.
WHAT ARE ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS?
Our anti-wrinkle injections involve injecting small quantities of Toxin into specific muscles using a tiny needle; this smooths lines and wrinkles by stopping the muscle from moving. As the muscle no longer contracts to cause crease lines, it creates a natural softening to dynamic lines and wrinkles and gives you a natural, fresh, and rejuvenated appearance.
While this muscle relaxant is working, these lines cannot get any deeper as you are not repeatedly creasing the skin, which is why people often have this treatment to prevent the formation of wrinkles.
Anti-wrinkle injections do not remove deep, fixed lines, they may reduce them slightly, and they will stop them from getting worse. Still, if they are deep, you will also require either dermapen, laser resurfacing, or dermal filler. Your Dr Leah cosmetic doctor will be able to advise you on the day of your appointment if this treatment is the right option for you or if another treatment is required to remove your lines.
Anti-wrinkle injections are the treatment of choice to smooth lines on the upper face but do not work to smooth lines on the lower face. For lines on the cheeks, between nose to mouth, lines on the top lip, or marionette lines - dermal filler is the best treatment option for the areas.
Antiwrinkle injections is regarded as being safe and has been used to treat tens of millions of patients worldwide for both medical and cosmetic reasons over the past two decades. It is recognised as a medicine and is used widely in the NHS to treat medical issues such as irritable bladder, muscle contracture and spasms in much higher doses than we use it for cosmetically and as it is not a new treatment, we have long-term data on its safety profile.
When administered correctly, this injectable will typically last for 3 – 4 months (however individual factors apply and some clients get a longer or shorter duration than this) The treatment is not painful as ultrafine needles are used. However, it can be mildly uncomfortable, and if you would like, then we can apply a numbing cream to the area 10 minutes before treatment, which will make it entirely pain-free.
It is a quick, easy, and very effective treatment with little or no recovery time.
WHAT AREAS CAN BE TREATED?
Antiwrinkle injections is the treatment of choice for people who have lines on the upper face; you may hear people talk about having 3 areas," which refers to:
- forehead lines
- Frown lines
- Crow's feet - Wrinkles around their eyes
This treatment is not used to smooth lines on the lower face – lines between nose to mouth or on lip or cheeks should be treated with dermal filler.
